The wave of incoming condominium projects in the Greater Toronto Area seems to show no sign of slowing down. In fact, newer projects – and newer condo units – are up for sale this 2019 and the coming years. One of them is the 4800 Yonge Street Condos project by Menkes Development Ltd.
In case you’re wondering, the 4800 Yonge Street Condos project is a pre-construction 49-storey condominium which is designed for the Willowdale neighborhood. As the name implies, it’s set to occupy the southwestern Yonge Street area along with Sheppard Avenue West.
It will also include a five-storey podium which will exclusively contain office and retail spaces. Meanwhile, the tower will include 536 high-end units for its residents.
A More Futuristic Approach to Design
4800 Yonge Street Condos will have a curvilinear shape featuring inset balconies. This unique and somewhat futuristic design will aim to lessen viewing obstructions from nearby buildings while conforming to the distance specifications set by Toronto’s Tall Building Guidelines.
Needless to say, this is a more unique approach to buildings than the typical squarish tower developments throughout the city.
Amenities to Expect
The project will include 440 proposed parking spaces which are distributed within six levels of underground parking. It’s also been planned to grant direct access to the Sheppard Yonge subway station.
Considering that the project is strategically placed in the Yonge and Sheppard areas, it won’t be long for this project to catch up with the other condos nearby in terms of growth. In fact, Toronto is aiming for a 400 jobs and residents per hectare target by 2031. This only means that the Yonge neighborhood is no doubt a lucrative place to invest in.
Assessing the Neighborhood
Yonge Street has experienced major transformations within the past few years. These include residential and multipurpose buildings along with office spaces. That said, various retail complexes have even undergone major improvements.
As the Yonge and Sheppard stretch now has a more “downtown” feel, it only means that the number of urban amenities and establishments within the area are expected to increase even further within the next few years.
The area also has quick access to transit, thanks to it being one of the few intersections in the Greater Toronto Area with transit access in four different directions. As such, you can head over to the downtown area in just 15 minutes.
Throughout the Willowdale neighborhood, the Yonge and Sheppard stretch will become the main location for employment and commercial use. That makes it potentially one of the most popular, and perhaps best, places to live and work in the years to come.
